Frequently Asked Questions

What does “Ethically Sourced” mean?

This term means that the animal that was used was not killed for the gain of osteological materials, bones, skulls, and other remains that come from a variety of sources. We source our materials from natural deaths (including euthanasian for animals that fail to thrive), road kill, invasive species, legal hunting/trapping, and more. At no time do we collect products that were killed for sport nor profit.

Are your Animal Products Ethically Sourced?

Yes, this shop does not support the poaching of animals for any reason. The goal is to give the remains a second life as a method of immortalizing the animal. We try to restore it to its natural appearance if possible. If the osteological materials are damage in any way, we then use those parts in a creative way to create something memorable.

Where do you get your Animal Remains? How do you obtain them?

All of our animal products are obtained from many locations throughout the USA. We work with anyone who ethically sources (hunters, veterinaries, taxidermist, etc.) to stay in line with our policies.

What types of Animal Remains do you work with?

We work with all sorts of remains from bones, to skulls, to wet specimens, and more! As long as the items do NOT violate the state laws (We are located in Virginia and when shipping to other states we have to look at their laws as well) and Federal laws (ex. Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918). To determine what you can accept in your state, be sure to check your state’s Fish and Wildlife Service websites.

How long does it take to receive my item?

This depends if you are ordering an already created item or a comission. If you are ordering an item straight off the site, please allow 7-14 days for the item to be shipped out. If you are ordering a comission, this may range later in the date due the complexity of the commissioned item (digital commissions are sent sooner via email compared to physical mail).

Why do the shipping prices vary so much?

It depends on the item you are ordering, one item may be made of fabric while another item may be made of bone and glass. Size and weight plays a big factor in the cost of the shipping as well as the delicateness of the items. We use the cheapest possible shipping ratings for our clients so that they can receive their items. Costs of shipping can adjust at any time if the shipping agencies change their prices.

I want to make a comission but can’t pay the full payment right now.

That’s okay! We only take half of the comission price up immediately after the comission has been made to front for the cost of materials. You must pay the remainder of the comission before receiving the final product.

What are your Return, Cancelation, and Exchange Policies?

If you have found a flaw with your item, you MUST provide physical evidence of the damage of that item to be considered a refund. No proof- no refund. If the damage is minor enough, we may be able to fix the item and send it back to you for no additional charges. If you have an issue with your item outside of damages, you have 48 hours after delivery to contact us to inform us and must ship within 7 days of contact. Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs and any loss in value if the item isn’t returned in the original condition. If you are commissioning an item and decide you no longer want the item, you will forfeit half of cost of the product created and be refunded the other half. We understand that the mail system isn’t what it used to be and damages can happen / mail can get lost. We take damages and returns very seriously and will try to help you in any way possible to make your experience a great one.
